PhD gift

PhD gift

These gift gave from my husband, he said there are my PhD gift. A Samsung Galaxy Camera and a FOSSIL limited edition watch. Love them much. I would not trade in any of these gift in the future.

I wanted to have this cool camera since it launched last year. After I sold my small Canon camera to my brother, my husband thought of buying the Samsung Galaxy Camera for me. It is very awesome camera. I can share photos through Instagram!

The Fossil watches was unexpected gift. I accompanied my husband to mall, while he took out money from the ATM machines I was entering the watch shop and got hook with the watch that I own now. It is limited edition watch with metallic rose colour wrist leather band.

I love both gift!

Singapore Aquarium

On 22.11.2013, Friday was Hari Keputraan Sultan Johor, me and husband decided to go to Singapore. Why Singapore? Simply because we still have left over money that we changed when we went to Singapore 3 weeks ago (attending my nephew’s weeding).

That day was rainy, we just hoped the sky turned bright by afternoon. Initially we wanted to go to Singapore zoo, but we were scared if rain, that would be a problem and we may be not enjoy much being in the rain. So we just took sudden decision, to Aquarium. Ok! At least if rain comes, we inside the building and still can enjoy the moment.

The journey was tiring, why? Because too many cars entering Singapore. From home we left at 8.30am and reached Singapore at 12.30pm. Too long hour. No stress actually because we not rush for something, we just wanted to spend time together.

The Singapore Aquarium is located at Sentosa Island. It was my second time but this time with our daughter and the location change quite a bit. We entered from Casino something, its like Genting Higland theme park though. The ticket per person is SGD32 and free of charge for Ain.

There were so many tourists, the place quite crowded with people. Ain enjoyed seing fish but after a while she didn’t care at all.

We left aquarium at around 4 p.m. Then we headed to Mustafa Mall, that’s around 10 km from Sentosa Island. Actually we were so hungry, we not really sure the food nearby aquarium is halal. There are many halal restaurants near Mustafa Mall is halal. We found one and the food was tasty. We did some shopping in Mustafa Mall, not forgetting the groceries. There is big shopping mall next to Mustafa Mall, but I can’t remember the name. There, we bought some stuff for Ain at Toys r us, had dinner at Old Town Cafe. We left the mal, at around 8 p.m.
On the way to check point, the traffic was so bad. So many cars, bus. Thanks God Ain slept as soon at she left the mall untill we reached Batu Pahat. She was really tired.

Overall we really enjoyed this short trip. It is so much fun being a parents to a growing daughter. Because of her, we can go to many places especially the places we would loved to go when we were kids. That’s all my ‘coretan’.

PhD news how I react over it?

I had been waiting for this news for a long time. I dreamt of it. I envied those who had it. Wondering when my time will come?

On my last trip with family to Cameron Highland, I received a massage from my boss at my workplace, congratulating me for completing the study. I afraid to say thank you because as far as I knew, I had to wait one more feedback from my reviewer. As soon as I reached the apartment where we stayed, I checked my email. I had not checked email for 3 days I guess, why?Because the internet was suck at my workplace. As I scrolled down the mail, I noticed few emails from my supervisor and my Deans. My heart beating fast to know what was going on.

First email was from the Graduate Research Examination Officer, it was about the result of my Ph D examination. She attached the comments from the reviewers. Only one reviewer put recommendation on my thesis. The good part is I don’t have to submit the thesis again to them. This email was sent on 16 October. On the same date itself, my supervisor sent me an email, congratulating me. That made my vacation so beautiful in my life. No stress No worries, First time I ever felt it since 6.5 years ago. On the same date to I found my supervisor sent email to my x-Dean informing about the news. Then, the x-Dean informed to current Dean and also circulate it to few people in my department such as my HOD. It’s funny that I’m the person who wait for this news, but it turned to be I became the last person to know about the news. Anyway, am feel grateful.

During that time, my husband did not know what was going on. He once angry at me because I read sms during driving ‘What’s so important in your phone?’. I kept silence until I confirmed about the news.

As soon as I checked the email, I run to my husband and hugged him, I told him I finally completed my phD. He speechless but he was so happy. He called his parents back in India. I could not wait to tell the news to my mum, but mum was praying that time. Few times I checked whether my mum finished her prayer or no. Then, I went to my mum, I hugged her and cried in her lap. I told I completed my ph D. My mum cried too. I hugged my daughter even though she did not understand yet.

I talked to my father and mother in law. I was speechless. The happiness could not be described in words. I did not need to tell the world I did it, but that’s for my heart who always sad and worry, now the horrifying episode has gone and lets begin with new chapter. I waited for sometimes to just be on sajadah, just being alone with my Creator, to thank Him for everything.

That day was one of the memorable day in my life.

First time to Pantai Punggur

For us, we been to Pantai Punggur quite many times, but for Ain, today was her first time. The trip was unplanned, we wanted to go out for breakfast, then I told my husband ‘Let’s go to the beach!’.

There were crowds at Pantai Punggur. Some activities we saw like Fishing Competition, Drawing Competition etc. Many booths selling foods too.

It was high tide, that’s why that had that fishing competition, I guess!

Bringing her close to the water

We were there for about 45 minutes cause the weather was getting hot and so much crowd.  Next time mama and papa take you to this beach again where you can run along the beach.

A song from Imran Ajmain

The lyric is so beautiful, personally I would like to dedicate it to my daughter when she grow up.

Yang tulus ikhlas
Ingin sekali sekala dirinya dibalas
Walau hanya dengan dakapan di angin lalu

Yang selalu memberi
Ingin sekali sekala jadi penerima
Cukup dengan salam dan manis doa

Aku ingin kau merasakan hebatnya cinta
Dan leburkan saja serpihan calar derita
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsty.com/imran-ajmain-selamat-ulang-tahunsayang-lyrics.html ]
Selamat ulang tahun sayang
Kini kau bersayap, pergilah terbang
Rentaslah langit cita cita mu
Harap nanti kita ‘kan bertemu

Selamat ulang tahun sayang
Janganlah engkau tak terbang pulang
Ku nanti penuh kerinduan
Selamat tinggal, selamat jalan

Aku hanya inginkan engkau setia
Kerana setia yang mencipta bahagiamu

Brush teeth

ImageTeaching Ain on how to brush teeth is not an easy job. I referred to some article where they suggest few things on how to teach kiddo how to brush teeth. There are:

1. Open your mouth and say Ahhh

2. Say cheese by showing your teeth

3. Sing a song (my song ‘ This is how we brush our teeth, brush our teeth’)

4. Brush teeth in front of them

and some other more.

I practised all four, I have seen some improvement like Ain allowing me to brush her teeth (even for few second). Most of time she brush my teeth. Clever girl.

My perfect day

I would like to describe how my perfect day look alike.

My daughter used to wake up between 5.30am to 6.30am. Even though I still sleeping, I had to wake up. She pooped and I should gave her shower. Play a little bit then she started to feel sleepy again. That’s a good opportunity for me too. I locked the door and just be alone with her, knowing all the family like to say hi to her in the morning. Let it be me and her. I played her favorite music while she lay on my arms. She fell sleep, then me. We woke up at the same time too. That’s my perfect day.

My first entry on wordpress

its been a long time I would like to have WordPress as a platform to write about things around me. because I love writing and I do not want let go things without keeping a record about it. a short meeting with a new friend in a course of ‘blogging in teaching and learning’ at my work place opened my eyes that I should have one. so here I’m.

On this platform I will write about what happens around me and what’s interest me. I hope you people read my writing with open heart, take good things if you find it benefiting you , and leave me quiet if you find it wasting your time.

Thank you
